The new Covert series of .45 ACP carry pistols from the Kimber Custom Shop™ is all business, a perfect blend of light weight, tactical features and dependability. Each of the three models features a lightweight frame machined from solid bricks of 7075-T7 aluminum, carry melt treatment for rounded and blended edges that will not snag on clothing or holsters, dovetail-mounted Tactical Wedge three dot (green) night sights and 30 lines-per-inch frontstrap checkering with a new bordered base pattern.

Covert frames are finished in Desert Tan KimPro II™, Kimber's premium finish that is both self-lubricating and exceptionally durable. The slide and all small parts are finished in matte black oxide for dynamic contrast. Crimson Trace® Lasergrips® in an exclusive digital camo pattern with the Kimber logo provide real-world advantages for both training and tactical applications. Lasergrips easily zero to cover point of impact, have a recessed on/off button and are automatically activated by a pressure switch positioned just below the trigger guard.

Standard features include match grade barrel, chamber and trigger group, beveled magazine well, lowered and flared ejection port, extended thumb safety, beavertail grip safety with memory bump and a magazine with extended bumper pad (except Ultra)

The Custom covert II is a full-size .45 ACP that carries like a compact. Weighing just 31 ounces, 7 ounces less than a similar pistol with a steel frame, it rides easily in a holster. The carry melt treatment done by hand in the Custom Shop rounds edges that might otherwise dig in or grab. Tactical Wedge night sights make sure that if you can see a target, you can see your sights, and Lasergrips provide a second sighting option that can be critical in a defense situation.

The Pro Covert II has a full-length grip but a shorter 4-inch bull barrel. At just 28 ounces, it is one of the best choices for both duty and concealed carry offered by Kimber. In fact, many professionals prefer a mid-size 1911 for daily carry, as the shorter barrel reduces weight and tends not to interfere with driving or sitting for long periods. At the same time, a full-size magazine carries 7 rounds of .45 ACP.

The Ultra Covert II .45 ACP weighs just 25 ounces, and a short 3-inch bull barrel and abbreviated grip makes it ideal for concealed or backup carry. End then, magazine capacity remains 7 rounds. One of Kimber's best compact pistols, dependability is ensured by beveling both the front and rear of the ejection port, polishing the breech and incorporating a ramped barrel.
