Kimber Rifle Receives Award of Excellence from Sporting Classics Magazine

Yonkers, New York, January 19, 2010 – The Kimber® Model 84M Classic Stainless™ rifle has received the prestigious 2009 Award of Excellence from Sporting Classics Magazine. Ron Spomer, senior editor and rifle columnist, presented the award to Kimber owner and CEO Leslie Edelman at the 2010 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sporting Classics Magazine launched the Award of Excellence program 10 years ago to recognize companies, craftsmen and lodges for their outstanding products and services for sportsmen. The Kimber Model 84M Classic Stainless was selected based on the following summary (which appeared in Sporting Classics):

Kimber started its 84M rifles with a simple plan: Match proven engineering and design with modern materials to minimize bulk and mass without compromising performance. The result is a Mauser-inspired, controlled-round feed action; three-position safety; classic walnut stock and 22-inch barrel weighing slightly more than 5 pounds. In 2009 Kimber pushed the 84M to a higher level of durability by mating their lovely A-grade claro walnut stocks to stainless steel barreled actions. The contrast is as striking as the performance.

The Model 84M Classic Stainless is chambered in .243 Win., 7mm-08 Rem. and .308 Win. Suggested retail price is $1,223, and these rifles are currently available at Kimber Master Dealer locations across North America.
