R7 Mako Handgun Firing Pin Safety Block Recall

List of Serial Numbers of Recalled Products

Kimber Mfg. Inc. (“Kimber”) has discovered a quality issue involving the firing pin safety block of certain Kimber R7 model handguns. This recall affects certain Serial Numbers that were shipped from January 10, 2022 through February 14, 2022. 

Firearms assembled with the subject firing pin safety block may release multiple rounds from a single trigger pull. 

This Recall Notice applies only to the Serial Numbers of those products listed in the List of Serial Numbers of Recalled Products linked to this document. If your handgun is among those in this List of Serial Numbers of Recalled Products, please contact us as described below immediately, and do not load, use, sell, or otherwise make available your handgun, as the condition may lead to serious personal injury or death. Kimber is voluntarily recalling the affected products to help ensure the personal safety of the parties that purchased and/or used them.

If your handgun has a Serial Number listed in the List of Serial Numbers of Recalled Products linked to this document, please contact Kimber immediately to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (“RMA”) and arrange to have your handgun returned to Kimber for examination and remedial measures as may be necessary, free of charge, using the following steps:

  • Step 1 - Please either: (a) contact us immediately at 888-243-4522 (Monday-Friday 9:30AM - 6PM EST) and indicate you are calling about the “R7 firing pin safety block recall;” or (b) email us at “R7FiringPinSafetyBlockRecall@kimberamerica.com.” Either option will enable you to arrange an RMA to return your product(s) to Kimber for examination and remedial work, free of charge. We will pay for the costs of shipping the product(s) to Kimber and returning it to you.
  • Step 2 – After confirming that your product(s) is subject to this recall, we will send you a prepaid shipping label with instructions so that you can return your product to us, free of charge.
  • Step 3 – Kimber will examine your product(s), remediate it, and return it to you (free of charge) after being remediated. Kimber will make every effort to return your product(s) to you in as short a period as possible.

If your product(s) is affected by this recall, and you have already sent it to Kimber, we will examine your product(s), remediate it, and return it to you (free of charge) after being remediated for the issue identified by this recall notice.

Aegis (Factory Installed Optics & Optics Ready) Handguns, KHX (Factory Installed Optics & Optics Ready) Handguns, and Optics Installation Plate Safety Recall Notice

 
List of Serial Numbers of Recalled Products

Kimber Mfg. Inc. (“Kimber”) has discovered a quality issue involving: (a) factory installed optics versions of Aegis handguns and KHX handguns shipped from January 2018 through May 15, 2019; (b) Optics Ready versions of Aegis handguns and KHX handguns shipped from January 2018 through May 15, 2019; and (c) the separately sold optics installation plate compatible with Aegis and KHX Optics Ready handguns (part numbers 4000750, 4000753, and 400754) shipped from product launch through May 15, 2019. This recall affects all such products shipped from product launch through May 15, 2019.

This quality issue could allow the optics assembly to become separated from the handgun when it is fired, presenting a risk of serious personal injury to the user.

This Recall Notice applies only to the Serial Numbers of those products listed in the List of Serial Numbers of Recalled Products linked to this document. If your handgun is among those in this List of Serial Numbers of Recalled Products, or if your separately purchased optics installation plate (part numbers 4000750, 4000753, and 400754) was either shipped to you from Kimber or purchased by you from a retail seller between January 2018 and May 15, 2019, please contact us as described below immediately, and do not load, use, sell, or otherwise make available your handgun, as the condition may lead to serious personal injury. Kimber is voluntarily recalling the affected products to help ensure the personal safety of the parties that purchased and/or used them.

If your handgun has a serial number listed in the List of Serial Numbers of Recalled Products linked to this document, or if you purchased from Kimber an aftermarket optics assembly plate from January 2018 May 15, 2019, please contact us immediately to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (“RMA”) and arrange to have your handgun returned to Kimber for examination and remedial measures as may be necessary, free of charge, using the following steps:

  • Step 1 - Please either: (a) contact us immediately at 888-243-4522 (Monday-Friday 9AM - 6PM EST) and indicate you are calling about the “Aegis & KHX Recall;” or (b) email us at AegisKHXRecall@kimberamerica.com. Either option will enable you to arrange an RMA to return your product(s) to Kimber for examination and remedial work, free of charge. We will pay for the costs of shipping the product(s) to Kimber and returning it to you.
  • Step 2 – After confirming that your product(s) is subject to this recall, we will send you a prepaid shipping label with instructions so that you can return your product to us, free of charge.

84M Bolt Function Recall

Kimber Mfg., Inc. (“Kimber”) has discovered a potential quality issue involving the bolt function on some 84M rifles with Stainless Steel receivers manufactured in late 2013. This quality issue could allow the rifle to fire without pulling the trigger.

This Recall Notice only applies to the Serial Numbers of the 84M Rifles listed in the List of Serial Numbers of Potentially Affected 84M Rifles linked to this document. If your 84M Rifle is among those so listed, please contact us as described below immediately, and do not load, use, sell, or otherwise make available your 84M Rifle, because if present this condition may lead to serious personal injury or death.

Although Kimber® has not received any reports of accidents or injuries, due to the possibility existing of an unintentional discharge, we are voluntarily recalling 84M rifles that may have this quality issue to help ensure your personal safety.

If your 84M Rifle has a serial number listed in the List of Serial Numbers of Potentially Affected 84M Rifles linked to this document, please contact us immediately to obtain an Return Merchandise Authorization (“RMA”) and arrange to have your 84M Rifle returned to Kimber for examination and remedial measures as may be necessary, free of charge, using the following steps:

(“Kimber”) has discovered a potential malfunction involving the thumb safety on some Kimber Solo pistols that could possibly allow the pistol to fire if the trigger is pulled with the thumb safety in the “on” position. This Recall Notice only applies to the Serial Numbers of the Solo pistols listed in the List of Serial Numbers of Potentially Affected Solo Pistols linked to this document. If your Solo pistol is among those so listed, please contact us as described below immediately, and do not load, use, sell, or otherwise make available your Solo pistol(s) because this potential condition may lead to serious personal injury or death.
